graham. that's right. smile, senator graham. you're the latest happy republican to get enrolled in obama care. as required by law. congratulations. he joins senator rand paul, speaker boehner, and many other lucky republicans who signed up for insurance under the very law they opposed. i wonder what president obama would say to these guys. >> congratulations. and by the way, you're covered. >> yes, they're covered. but millions of americans aren't thanks to republican policies. gop governors and lawmakers in 25 states have refused to expand. medicaid. denying insurance to nearly 5 million americans. 5 million people without insurance just so republicans can say they're fighting the law. that is inexcusable. joining me now, joan walsh. thanks for being here this evening. it's incredible. 5 million people not able to get insurance because republican governors are playing politics, joan. >> no, it's really awful. and it's terrible for -- first of all, it's terrible for these 5 million people. they're going to hospitals now and community navigators saying if you lived in a neighboring state,

about. lindsay graham may decide he doesn't want to deal with the challenger. he is tired of the tea party moves. mark warper could decide the senate is not what it is cracked up to be and he wants to go back to the private sector. you never know what gets added to a fluid situation in the senate. there 53 democrats and 45 republicans and two independents who caucus with the democrats, giving them a ten-seat majority. picking up six seats to win control in 2014. 35 of the 50 seats will be up for grabs. 21 held by democrats and 14 held by republicans. aside from a couple of appointments in the last couple of years, these were senators who won in 2008, a big year for the democrats. any republicans are running are in safe states. seven of them being left open by senators. five were democrats. south dakota's tim johnson and jay rockefeller. they served a combined 25 terms in the senate. how about that? two republicans right now in the list. don't expect the republicans to lose seats. they can defend enough of their own turf up in 2014 in states that mitt romney won in 2012. that includes

unserious. >> you don't see any other republican in the senate, you don't see john mccain or lindsey graham talking about impeachment do you? >> you hear coburn and imhoff. >> they're playing to the patch back home. >> they can rile up the base. they know the end result they want, which is impeachment, but they have a dozen different reasons, is it "fast & furious," benghazi. >> irs. >> there was a word named decency. the impeachment cry is about attacking the president's right to be president. earlier, they threatened to impeach if the president raised the debt limit. this president is looking to find a way to get it done without us. my position is that that's an impeachable act from my perspective. then the far right threatened impeachment if the president did not act to raise the debt. here's a u.s. congressman down in october. >> would you allow us to default on our debt? >> no, that would be an impeachable offense by the president. >> that would be an impeachment if he didn't act. either way, so either way, raise the debt limit or not, these guys can teach it round or teach it flat. >>

graham get all these challenges from the right? that is the decision we're trying to find out. the big takeaway, no matter what happens in 2014, the senate is getting more conservative, period. >> we'll get into a discussion on foreign policy, starting with this healafghanistan deadline. >> karzai won't sign this deal. susan rice went over to save it and she couldn't save it with the president. they're saying, what's going on? i thought you agreed to this whole deal. does the president himself have to get this done? they can't seem it get this done by the end of the year. >> here and reporting over the weekend, president rouhani in iran saying, we're going to enrich uranium. is there any reason to think that iran gives up its nuclear option? >> no. iran is now cementing that. rouhani went on an interview with the sentinel times, and this is creating big problems with iran's neighbors. they all gave up their right to enrich and the saudis already paid for a nuclear program. pakistan, all they have to do is call that debt in and say, send it over. proliferation is a real threat, but the

senator lindsey graham of south carolina says he too is signing up for obama care to which he added this comment. my insurance costs are going up with $400 a month, more than 200%. my health care coverage will be a fraction of what it used to be. but i will continue my fight to defund and allow americans to opt out of this horrible government program. i guess we have different interpretations of how much this costs. what's your reaction to what he says? >> my god, it is just reading off the talking points from the -- you know, the republican conference and all the negative reporting. take a look at this. but despite all the negative commentary and reporting on this effort, it has been transformative in people's lives already. you take a look at preventive care, massive changes for preventive care. my own story, i am a survivor of ovarian cancer, and my diagnosis 27 years ago was by accident. and, yes, i could afford to have the screens and the tests that i need. so many people have avoided taking advantage of preventive treatments because they couldn't afford it. now they can. it's

saxby chambliss. lindsey graham faces a crowded field of republicans to unseat him. these are the faces of powerful republican senators who are forced to defend their seats against their own party. michael steele's an expert. he's a former chair of rnc and political analyst. michelle goldberg writes for the nation. let's be sophisticated about this. some of these states are so conservative that probably the most conservative will win no matter what. south carolina, mississippi. i'm trying to think of the other one. maybe wyoming. there's no way a republican loses the general election unless they're a witch or a nut. so basically there's no danger here. but in four of these seven races reasonably close to the states. so there is some danger there of creating a situation where whoever wins the primary is so far drawn to the right incumbent or challenger they have lost a chance of winning a state which is really safe for the rs. >> i'd agree with that, chris. i would take south carolina out of that first bucket of guaranteed conservative win come next fall if, you know, you have the wrong
